Overview

Our client, a private equity-backed B2B SaaS company headquartered in Frankfurt, is seeking an experienced Interim CFO to provide financial leadership during a critical growth and value-creation phase. The business has a robust recurring revenue base, ambitious international expansion plans, and requires strong financial stewardship to ensure scalability and investor readiness.

Position

Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Start Date : Immediate

Duration : 69 months (with potential extension or permanent conversion)

Location : Frankfurt, Germany — hybrid, minimum 34 days on-site

Responsibilities

• Act as the financial lead for the PE fund ensuring timely, accurate, and investor-grade reporting.
• Strengthen finance processes, controls, and governance to meet PE and auditor expectations.
• Oversee SaaS-specific performance reporting (ARR, NRR, churn, CAC / LTV, gross margin).
• Build and lead the finance team, upskilling capability and embedding scalable processes.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash management disciplines to support growth.
• Partner with the CEO and management team on strategic initiatives including M&A and exit readiness.
• Manage external stakeholders: investors, auditors, banks, and advisors.

Qualifications / Candidate Requirements

• Proven track record as CFO or Interim CFO in PE-backed or high-growth SaaS / tech businesses, 5-8 years experience.
• Strong expertise in SaaS KPIs, financial reporting, and value creation levers.
• Demonstrated experience in building finance functions, implementing controls, and ERP / BI systems.
• Commercial mindset with ability to partner closely with investors and leadership teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; hands-on and delivery-focused.
• Fluent in English and German.
