Job summary

Henkel is hiring to own the end-to-end development of scalable backend services in a cloud-native DX IT unit. You will design and maintain applications with Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, and Kafka, collaborating with Product Owners to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

You will contribute to architecture decisions, support cross-functional teams, and promote engineering best practices, including automated testing and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional software/backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on Node.js and TypeScript; NestJS is a plus.
• Fluent English with strong communication in an international environment.

About this Position

What you´ll do

• Own the end-to-end development of scalable backend services and integration solutions in a cloud-native environment in our Business Unit DX (IT)
• Design, build, and maintain high-quality applications using Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, and Kafka
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Contribute to architectural decisions, solution design, and effort estimation for new features and services
• Work with cross-functional teams and technical experts to successfully deliver complex software projects
• Support engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and the promotion of engineering best practices
• Ensure software quality, reliability, and scalability through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous improvement initiatives

What makes you a good fit

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
• 3+ years of professional experience in software development and backend development
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, experience with NestJS is a plus
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in an international environment
• Fluent English skills, both written and spoken

The position is limited for 2 years.
