Ideal candidates have 5+ years in the insurance industry, with a background in brokerage, underwriting or risk management, and fluent German and English.

We are supporting a leading listed private equity investment group based in Munich with the appointment of an Insurance Specialist (m/f/d).

As Insurance Specialist, you will play an important role in managing insurance topics across the investment portfolio, working closely with deal teams, portfolio companies, brokers and insurance providers.

Your Responsibilities

• Support deal teams with the insurance aspects of acquisitions, including reviewing and negotiating insurance-related terms within purchase agreements
• Conduct and support insurance due diligence on potential investments
• Assess the insurance requirements and risk exposures of individual portfolio companies
• Develop and implement appropriate insurance strategies throughout the investment lifecycle
• Work closely with insurance brokers, underwriters and carriers to ensure appropriate coverage across the portfolio
• Review existing insurance programmes and identify opportunities to improve coverage, manage risk and optimise costs
• Advise portfolio companies on insurance-related matters across areas such as property, liability, D&O and other commercial insurance lines

Your Profile

• At least 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, ideally within commercial/industrial insurance
• Background in insurance brokerage, underwriting, corporate insurance or risk management
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, coverage structures and risk assessment
• Experience with or exposure to insurance due diligence and/or M&A transactions
• Experience across areas such as Property, Liability, D&O and broader commercial insurance is highly advantageous
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of insurance topics across multiple businesses
• Degree or professional qualification in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
• Fluent German and English

You will work closely with investment professionals, operational teams, portfolio companies, brokers and insurers, providing significant exposure to M&A and value creation.
