Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Inpatient Palliative Care unit on a PRN basis. Based in the Supportive Care Medicine Department, this role collaborates with the Moffitt Medical Group to deliver high‑quality cancer care and improve patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have oncology or internal medicine experience, a Florida medical license, and ARNP/PA certification, with BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree at minimum; master’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant program.
• Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one) and certification by the appropriate accreditation body.
• Active BLS.
• Experience in oncology or internal medicine; specialty experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating with multiple specialists.
• Correlates subjective and objective data to form differential diagnosis.
• Formulates treatment plans within scope of practice.
• May perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate.
• Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.

Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Supportive Care Medicine - Inpatient Palliative Care - PRN

Based in the Supportive Care Medicine Department , the PRN inpatient palliative care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides patient care under the auspices of theMoffitt Medical Group (MMG), and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.

• Assists physicians with the evaluation, management and treatment of a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities.
• Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s).

• Active BLS.
• Experience in oncology or general internal medicine; experience specific to the specialty is preferred but not required.

Salary Range

$61.86 - $94.30

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
