Job summary

Getolo GmbH is expanding its IT Governance & Information Security team in Berlin. We seek a full-time Information Security & IT Governance Lead (m/f/d) on-site at our Berlin office with German and English language proficiency.

You will own and evolve the IT governance framework, lead IS governance and risk initiatives, and drive audits and stakeholder alignment across the organization. Hybrid work options and a strong benefits package are available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• Alternative educational paths accepted with strong practical security and governance experience.
• Certifications such as ISO 27001, CISSP, CISM, CRISC are a plus, not required.
• Solid understanding of modern cloud-based and software-driven environments.
• 8+ years of experience in Information Security, IT Governance, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with ISMS, risk management, and security governance frameworks.
• Experience supporting or leading audits in IT/security contexts.
• Fluent German and English; able to operate at management level.

Job description

To ensure a strong, scalable, and compliant security and governance foundation across getolo, we are expanding our IT Governance & Information Security team. We are therefore looking for a full-time Information Security & IT Governance Lead (m/f/d) based on-site at our Berlin office. German language proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously develop getolo's IT Governance & Information Security Framework (NIST-based, risk-driven)
• Act as (or take over) the Information Security Officer (ISB) role as part of getolo's IT Governance and Security function
• Lead and be accountable for Information Security across governance, risk, and operational domains
• Enable effective Security Operations by translating regulatory and governance requirements into actionable security measures
• Establish and maintain pragmatic best practices for Information Security across technology, processes, and people
• Lead and coordinate internal and external IT security and governance audits, including preparation, execution support, and follow-up
• Ensure alignment and effective stakeholder management with group-level governance and oversight functions

Requirements

• Educational background – Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, IT, Engineering, or a related field
• Alternative educational paths are acceptable with strong practical security and governance experience
• Relevant certifications (e.g. ISO 27001, CISSP, CISM, CRISC) are a plus, not a requirement
• Solid understanding of modern cloud-based and software-driven environments
• Professional background – 8+ years of experience in Information Security, IT Governance, or related disciplines
• Hands‑on experience with ISMS, risk management, and security governance frameworks
• Experience in regulated or risk‑sensitive environments
• Experience supporting or leading internal and external audits in an IT/security context
• Ability to operate independently and confidently at management level
• Pragmatic, business‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills
• Business fluent German and English
