Jobbeschreibung

Be part of a movement to change the way Europe pays

In today’s digital Europe, payments still feel too complicated. Random delays, confusing rules, extra apps and accounts make it harder than it should be to pay and get paid. The European Payments Initiative is changing that with Wero, a proudly European digital wallet to make payments easier, clearer and more secure. Online, in store, at home and across borders, with your money and data protected under European laws and regulations. Wero is live in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands and launching very soon in Luxembourg and Austria. Backed by 17 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, we’re building a brand new, proudly European payment system.

What's In It For You

You will play a key role in driving the successful implementation of EPI across the Belgian and Luxembourgish markets. Acting as the link between participating banks and the EPI organization, you will develop tailored implementation plans and ensure seamless coordination among all stakeholders through to go-live. Through regular engagement with individual members and the wider ecosystem, you will foster collaboration, share best practices, and build momentum. You will be the go‑to person for aligning efforts, resolving challenges, and maintaining a 360‑degree view of progress, serving as the internal champion for EPI members and making a vital contribution to bringing EPI's vision to life. At EPI, we embrace a remote‑first culture, enabling our teams to work remotely from the country they are based in, with in‑person meetings at least once a quarter to foster collaboration and connection.

About The Team

You will report directly to our Chief Implementation Officer, who brings extensive project management experience in the payments sector. You will also be part of a team of experienced Implementation Managers. In your day‑to‑day work, you will interact regularly with members of EPI's Product, Scheme, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations teams.

Your impact
  • Support new members through onboarding, co‑design their EPI implementation plan, and set up appropriate project governance
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of the plan
  • Act as the central liaison between the EPI member and the EPI organization, ensuring timely deployment by guiding the member's project manager
  • Manage all dimensions of the implementation (tech, legal, branding, marketing, product) and facilitate sessions to resolve product, rules, and technical challenges
  • Lead and prepare the steerco's together with the member's project manager
Monitor and Report on Implementation Progress
  • Track and report KPIs, identify risks and mitigation strategies, and provide clear, actionable reporting to stakeholders
  • Contribute to the further fine‑tuning of the EPI implementation approach
  • Together with your fellow implementation managers, continuously refine the roll‑out and onboarding process, focusing on standardization, industrialization, and sharing experience
Technology stack To succeed, you should meet at least 70% of these requirements
  • A Master's degree in Science, Business Administration or a related field
  • +5 years of experience in financial services, payments, or consulting, ideally working with Belgian or Luxembourgish Payment Service Providers.
  • Proven project management experience, with exposure to complex, multi‑stakeholder environments considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to lead from a business perspective while demonstrating a high tech affinity
  • Fluency in English & Dutch (CEFR C1 or C2); other European languages are a plus
Job specific requirements
  • Ability to remain effective and focused in a flexible environment where processes, regulations, and products continuously evolve
  • Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality work and track progress through KPIs
  • Comfortable working remotely in a pan‑European, multicultural environment
If this looks like you, the recruitment steps are:
  • A first call with one of our recruiters
  • An interview with one of our Implementation Managers focused on the mission and your expertise
  • A final interview with our Chief Implementation & Head of transversal projects Officer
  • Hopefully, an offer you can’t refuse
Turn back if …
  • You expect to manage a team immediately
  • You thrive only in fully processed and guided environments
  • You're expecting to change everything upon your arrival with no consideration for your colleagues work or the regulatory constraints
What We Can Offer
  • Remote-first culture with quarterly and annual all‑staff in‑person meetups to keep teams connected and collaborative
  • Possibility to work from another EU country for up to 3 months per year
  • Competitive compensation package, featuring salary, performance‑based bonus, and a thoughtfully designed, high‑quality benefits program
  • The opportunity to be part of a multicultural European company
  • Learning & development budget: €5,000 training budget per year
