Be part of a movement to change the way Europe pays

In today's digital Europe, payments still feel too complicated. Random delays, confusing rules, extra apps and accounts make it harder than it should be to pay and get paid.

The European Payments Initiative is changing that with Wero, a proudly European digital wallet to make payments easier, clearer and more secure. Online, in store, at home and across borders, with your money and data protected under European laws and regulations.

Wero is live in Belgium, France and Germany and launching very soon in Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Backed by 16 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, we're building a brand new, proudly European payment system. Why not join us?

What's in it for you

Join EPI and help shape the future of merchant acceptance in one of Europe's largest markets. You will drive the adoption of Wero among German-speaking merchants, influence the development of new acceptance verticals, and have a direct impact on the growth of a truly European payment solution.

At EPI, we embrace a remote-first culture, enabling our teams to work from the country they're based in, with in-person meetings at least once a quarter to foster collaboration and connection.

About the team

You will report to the Director Market Acceptance DE and work closely with colleagues across Europe (Business Acceptance, Marketing, Product...). The environment is remote-first, highly cross-functional and international, with regular touch points and in-person gatherings for key milestones.

As Merchant Acceptance Manager Germany & Austria, you will be a key driver of Wero's merchant-side expansion across the DACH region.

Represent Wero across the European ecosystem
  • Participate in key industry events, associations and forums to increase awareness and adoption.
  • Monitor market dynamics and competitive offerings to feed into EPI's acceptance strategy.
Bridge merchant needs with internal teams
  • Translate merchant feedback into actionable insights for Product, Scheme, Pricing and Membership teams.
  • Ensure acceptance requirements are clearly communicated and prioritized internally.
  • Stay up-to-date on product details to guide merchants effectively.
Provide visibility through structured reporting
  • Maintain an updated pipeline and activity tracking.
