We are seeking a skilled HR Manager – German Payroll to oversee and manage payroll operations for our German workforce within a complex industrial environment. As part of our HR team in the chemical manufacturing sector, you will ensure payroll compliance with national regulations, collective agreements, and internal standards, while supporting operational excellence in a unionized setting.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage monthly payroll processing for all German sites in cooperation with external payroll providers
  • Act as a subject matter expert for payroll-related matters, including shift allowances, bonuses, and company pension contributions
  • Provide payroll guidance to HR business partners, finance, and site managers
  • Support audits (e.g., ISO, K-SOX) and ensure accurate payroll reporting and documentation
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement of payroll processes and integration with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP)
  • Support cross-border payroll topics (e.g., expatriates) in coordination with global mobility and compliance teams

Requirements :

  • Several years of hands‑on experience managing German payroll in an industrial or unionized environment, ideally in chemical manufacturing
  • Deep understanding of German payroll regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and labor law
  • Experience with time tracking systems and shift work models
  • Strong proficiency in payroll software and MS Excel; Workday or SAP experience a plus
  • Fluent in German with good English communication skills
  • Structured, detail‑oriented, and proactive approach to problem‑solving
