Zusammenfassung

NOV is seeking an HSE Specialist to support and enhance our Health, Safety and Environmental Management System across the Vechta and Lutten sites in Germany. This role focuses on risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective actions and delivering HSE training to ensure compliance with German laws and international ISO standards.

Qualifikationen

• Technical degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety or related field.
• Occupational Safety Specialist (FASI) qualification or equivalent certification.
• 3–5 years of HSE experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Fluent German and good English communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Act as the appointed Occupational Safety Specialist for the Vechta and Lutten sites.
• Conduct HSE risk assessments, inspections and internal audits.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain HSE records, reports and compliance documentation.
• Support compliance with German HSE legislation and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001.
• Deliver HSE training, onboarding and toolbox talks.
• Monitor contractor HSE performance and permit compliance.
• Coordinate waste management in line with legal requirements.
• Support the BEM process for employees returning after long-term illness.
• Advise managers and employees and drive continuous HSE improvement.

Job Description

At NOV, safety is a core value. As an HSE Specialist, you will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of our Health, Safety and Environmental Management System while ensuring compliance with German legislation and international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

Working closely with production, engineering and site leadership, you will provide expert guidance on occupational safety, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, coordinate corrective actions and deliver HSE training across the organization. In your role as the appointed Occupational Safety Specialist (FASI), you will advise managers and employees on workplace safety matters and support the company's occupational reintegration management process (BEM) for employees returning after long-term illness.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification or degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field
• Occupational Safety Specialist (FASI) qualification or equivalent certification
• 3–5 years of HSE experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and German HSE legislation
• Fluent German and good English communication skills
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Occupational Safety Specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit-FASI)

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
• Lead Auditor certification (ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001)
• Additional qualifications in environmental management, hazardous substances, fire protection, BEM or first aid
• Experience working with regulatory authorities and external auditors
• Experience delivering HSE training or mentoring colleagues
