The housekeeper looks after all areas of the hotel, coordinates the chambermaids and chamber boys, checks that the various rooms have been successfully cleaned and makes the guests feel at home with every chat in between...

In other words:

• Responsible for the management of the area
• Ensuring that all operational standards are met
• Responsibility for the daily allocation of labour and ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned
• Control of goods orders
• Working closely with the front office and technical staff
• Creating duty rosters
• Technical instruction of subordinate employees
