Job summary

sea chefs invites experienced professionals to oversee hotel operations aboard Europe’s river and ocean cruise ships. You will supervise service, galley, inventory control, and administration, while coordinating with shore-side management on standards, budgets, and crew schedules.

The role requires years of hotel-ops experience, strong leadership, and excellent English. You will work in an international environment with paid travel and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Qualified training and professional diploma in the hotel- or gastronomy sector.
• Several years of practical experience in hotel operations or internal qualification.
• Experience in managing complaints.
• Negotiation-safe knowledge of English language.
• Strong leadership, adaptability, and organizational talents.
• Polished, calm demeanor with staff and passengers.
• Cost and quality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the entire Hotel Operations, supervising and coordinating service, galley, hotel inventory controlling and administration departments.
• Cooperation with Shore Side Management: policies, standards, cost and budget control, and vacation schedules for hotel department.
• Implement and maintain quality standards and hygiene/safety regulations (HACCP).
• Manage equipment and machinery in hotel operations.
• Serve as contact person for passengers for inquiries, complaints and suggestions.

• Responsible for the entire Hotel Operations, supervising and coordinating the service, galley, hotel inventory controlling and administration departments
• Cooperation with Shore Side Management: all activities pertaining to the professional management of the hotel operation, hotel related policies, standards and procedures, cost and budget control, service and vacation schedules for the hotel department
• Implementation, maintenance and improvement of the quality standards and adherence of all relevant hygiene (HACCP), safety and environmental regulations
• Responsibility for the careful handling of all equipment and machinery in the entire hotel operations
• Contact person for passengers regarding inquiries, complaints and suggestions in the entire hotel operations
• Motivating staff, paying attention that service is to carried out in a friendly, competent manner
• Planning, organising, delegating special functions in the hotel operations

Here’s what you bring on board:

• Qualified training and professional diploma in the hotel- or gastronomy sector
• Several years practical experience in hotel operations (or internal qualification)
• Experience in managing complaints
• Negotiation-safe knowledge of English language as well as a good general education
