The role leads the new Technical Documentation team, ensures on-time delivery of compliant machine and plant documentation, and drives end-to-end process improvements and digitization initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a degree in technical writing or a related field, plus hands-on experience in mechanical/plant engineering documentation, and strong German and English skills.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in technical writing and communication or comparable qualification.
• Alternatively, technical Vocational training with relevant experience and continuing education.
• Several years of experience in technical documentation, ideally in mechanical and plant engineering.
• Experience in leading employees is desirable.
• Knowledge of relevant guidelines, standards and product safety.
• Experience with content management systems, ideally Schema ST4.
• Familiarity with CDS/CCMS and digitization projects.
• Structured, solution-oriented and independent work style.

We are looking for a Head of Technical Documentation (m/w/d) at our headquarters in Augsburg.

Your Tasks:

• Leadership (technical and managerial) and further development of our newly formed Technical Documentation team
• Responsibility for ensuring that technical documentation (machine and plant documentation) is delivered on time, is complete, and complies with standards, as well as for the associated end-to-end processes
• Establishing company-wide standards to increase the efficiency of our processes while maintaining or enhancing customer value
• Proactively developing, optimizing, standardizing, and digitizing processes related to the flow of technical information (end-to-end processes)
• Identifying and implementing innovative technologies for solutions in the field of technical information
• Ensuring close collaboration with internal departments, project management teams, and external partners
• Proactively supporting the improvement or development of business models derived from technical information
• Overseeing the review, approval, and quality assurance of technical information while taking into account legal, regulatory, and customer-specific requirements

Your Profile:

• A successfully completed degree, e.g., in technical writing and communication, or a comparable educational qualification
• Alternatively, technical vocational training with several years of relevant experience and subject-specific continuing education
• Several years of experience in technical documentation, ideally in mechanical and plant engineering
• Experience in the disciplinary or technical management of employees is desirable
• Knowledge of and experience with relevant guidelines, standards, and product safety
• Experience with content management systems, ideally Schema ST4
• Experience with CDS/CCMS and digitization projects
• A structured, solution-oriented, and independent work style
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Good written and spoken German and English
