Zusammenfassung

ZEISS seeks a senior leader to head the development group responsible for mechatronic and dynamic qualification processes in projection optics within the Qualification Processes department. You will manage conception, development and documentation of algorithm-based qualification methods, and drive cost reduction and process convergence while coordinating across the team.

The role requires a technical doctorate as an advantage, excellent leadership, and fluent German and English.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in engineering or natural sciences (mechatronics, technical cybernetics or a comparable field); a doctorate would be advantageous.
• Knowledge in control engineering, cybernetics and mechanical engineering, particularly in system qualification.

• Oversee competencies planning, resource availability, coaching and development of team members.
• Ensure professional documentation, review and reporting of development results and contribute to the patent strategy.

Your Role

You will lead a development group of approximately 10 to 15 employees responsible for mechatronic and dynamic qualification processes in the integration with a focus on projection optics (POB) within the Qualification Processes department, both professionally and disciplinarily. You will be responsible for the on-time, requirements-compliant conception, development and documentation of algorithm-based processes for the mechatronic and dynamic qualification of high-performance optics. You will actively promote the continuous and strategic development of the group and its employees, as well as coordination and networking within the department. You will identify and plan the competencies and resources required by the group and ensure their availability. You will lead, coach and develop your employees. You will continuously work to reduce process costs, increase process convergence and release manufacturing processes. You will ensure the professional documentation, review and reporting of development results. You will ensure implementation of the patent strategy within your area of responsibility.

Your Profile

You hold an excellent university degree in engineering or the natural sciences (mechatronics, technical cybernetics or a comparable field); a doctorate would be advantageous. You have knowledge in the fields of control engineering, cybernetics and mechanical engineering, particularly in system qualification. You possess clearly demonstrated leadership skills and have proven experience in the disciplinary or lateral leadership of teams or projects. You work independently and in a well‑organized manner, show a high level of initiative, possess strong analytical skills and are highly reliable. You are a strong team player, have a confident, approachable and professional manner, and demonstrate a high level of self‑motivation and commitment. Your extensive written and spoken German and English skills round off your profile.
