Private Equity Director – Head of Investments (C&I Renewables)
Location: Hybrid – | Regular travel to Berlin office required
The firm is a fast-growing private equity platform focused on investing in Commercial & Industrial (C&I) renewable energy projects, accelerating the transition to clean energy while delivering attractive returns. We are seeking a Director – Head of Investments to lead origination, execution, and portfolio management for the C&I renewables strategy.
This is a senior leadership role offering significant autonomy to drive value creation and shape the investment platform’s future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the investment strategy for C&I renewable energy platforms (solar PV, battery storage, distributed generation).
- Originate, evaluate, structure, and execute equity and hybrid investments across development, construction, and operational stages.
- Lead transaction execution, including due diligence, financial modelling, valuation, negotiations, and documentation.
- Manage and expand relationships with developers, EPCs, co-investors, lenders, and strategic partners.
- Oversee portfolio companies and support management teams to drive operational excellence and growth.
- Present investment opportunities and portfolio performance to the Investment Committee and Board.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing investment team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in private equity, infrastructure, or corporate development, with a strong focus on renewables (C&I experience preferred).
- Proven track record of originating and executing complex transactions in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy development, financing, and regulatory frameworks.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and relationship management capabilities.
- Advanced financial modelling and transaction structuring expertise.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
- MBA, CFA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.
