About Statista Healthcare

Statista Healthcare is a vertical business unit of Statista focused on making healthcare quality transparent, measurable and comparable across countries, care settings and specialties. We work with leading healthcare stakeholders worldwide to support data‑driven quality measurement and transformation by combining in-depth analytical expertise with scalable technology and communication power.

Our offerings span international rankings, ratings, benchmarking studies and customised consulting projects. Our global healthcare rankings and hospital rating are published in collaboration with our trusted media partner Newsweek, enabling high visibility and credibility across markets.

We help healthcare organisations define relevant key performance indicators, validate and harmonise data structures and translate insights into actionable strategies. At the heart of our approach is a data‑driven understanding of healthcare quality grounded in robust methodologies, global comparability and stakeholder trust.

In our consulting projects we support healthcare providers and systems in developing tailored KPI frameworks, standardising and validating data processes and deriving actionable insights that enable measurable improvements in patient care and system‑level performance. We combine structured methodologies with hands‑on delivery to unlock the full value of healthcare quality data.

Your Role

As Product Owner, Healthcare Data Platform you will lead the strategic, customer‑centric organisational and technical build‑up of Statista’s scalable healthcare data platform – one of the three core pillars of Statista Healthcare. Your mission is to transform the today’s data environment into a unified, automated and scalable platform that enables Statista Healthcare’s future growth.

You will be responsible for defining the product around a clear and sustainable USP and transforming this vision into a scalable, product‑ready platform that consolidates all existing healthcare data assets (e.g. Rankings and Ratings), is capable of integrating new data sources and allows the development of new data service offerings. The platform will serve as the central infrastructure for harmonising healthcare data, powering analytical workflows and enabling new services.

This is both a strategic and hands‑on leadership role: you will define core use cases, design the platform model, lead its technical development and build the dedicated team required to deliver it. Reporting directly to the VP of Statista Healthcare you will play a key role in shaping Statista’s next growth phase as a data‑driven healthcare organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Own the strategic and technical roadmap for the Statista Healthcare Data Platform from MVP definition to global roll‑out.
  • Design and implement the target architecture for unified, automated, and product‑ready healthcare data (ETL / ELT data models, APIs, quality assurance, security and compliance).
  • Develop and operationalise a platform‑based business model that is scalable while simultaneously supporting existing business lines (Rankings, Ratings).
  • Transform legacy systems into a sustainable platform architecture, replacing partially manual processes and structures with robust maintainable solutions.
  • Build, develop and lead the core platform team, defining delivery standards, roles and operating processes.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Healthcare Analysis, Consulting, Data Science and IT to ensure full integration and data consistency.
  • Oversee the integration of external and proprietary data sources, ensuring interoperability, data quality and governance.
  • Ensure alignment between commercial, technical and strategic priorities, balancing innovation speed with scalability and reliability.
  • Define KPIs for platform adoption, data availability and business impact and report progress to Statista leadership.
Your Profile
  • 8 years of experience in data‑driven product development, platform architecture or digital transformation (e.g. management or technology consulting firms, digital health consultancies or SaaS companies).
  • Strong blend of technical fluency (data engineering concepts, APIs, cloud‑based databases) and business orientation (product vision, customer value, monetisation).
  • Experience in building or leading data platforms, ideally in healthcare, life sciences or analytics‑heavy environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder and team leadership skills, able to align diverse functions and scale new capabilities.
  • Fluent in English (German optional).
