Head of Finance (f/m/d) Operations Solutions

In this role, you report directly to the Head of Finance and are responsible for supervising all aspects of finance and accounting operations globally as well as the strategy of the Solutions (SOL) organization. This position requires a strong financial acumen in project businesses, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders to drive the transformation, ensuring profitability, shaping the strategic direction, and ensuring operational success of the Grid Software Solutions Business worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted partner to the SOL Head Bid Management as well as Projects.
• Lead a finance team of approximately 30 employees with global responsibility across various locations and model a culture of ownership while developing the team and promoting diversity.
• Be responsible for Commercial Project Management as well as Commercial Bid Management.
• Drive growth plans for redefining the business and efficient capital allocation in collaboration with peers.
• Drive value creation via collaboration of Siemens & non-Siemens units; expand skills to define the finance strategy.
• Align with the business on the transformation of business models, including capital allocation to achieve strategic and business objectives.
• Ensure the integrity of books and records, protect assets, and drive balanced value creation.
• Play an active role in bids/tenders, including collaboration with customers, partners, and financial institutions.
• Drive innovative IT solutions/processes based on the joint SI architecture / Sherpa X ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Education: University degree (Bachelor or Master) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience & Skills:
  • Many years of leadership experience in the area of business controlling and finance in a cross-functional and international environment.
  • Ability to lead teams with empowerment, encourage talent, and lead by example.
  • Setup early warning indicators and define measures for deviations.
  • High expertise in IFRS and Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines (SFRGs); experience in solutions and/or software is a plus.
  • Passion for customer-centric and innovation management; deep interest in the Power Grid Siemens business and portfolio.
  • Analytical thinker with ability to structure sophisticated tasks and challenges.
  • Resilient in a fast-paced environment; willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Self-reflecting leader who fosters a feedback culture; strong English communication and presentation skills.
• Ways of working: analytical, problem-solving attitude with strong decision-making abilities, and a growth mindset.
• Languages: business proficiency in German and English.
