Overview
We are seeking an outstanding logistics leader with deep expertise in e‑commerce fulfillment to steer our European supply chain operations. As Head of Europe Logistics & Fulfillment, you will own the end‑to‑end strategy, design, and execution of our European logistics footprint—from first‑mile inbound through continental trunk‑ing, to last‑mile delivery and returns. You will lead cross‑functional collaboration (warehousing, carrier / 3PL partnerships, customs & tax, network optimization) and drive continuous improvement in service, cost, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Europe regional logistics network strategy specifically for e‑commerce fulfillment, including inbound freight, continental transport, warehousing (multi‑country), cross‑dock, last‑mile delivery, and returns management.
- Lead the build and/or optimization of our first‑mile (short‑sea / air‑intoEU) and last‑mile delivery networks, including carrier & 3PL selection, service models (hub & spoke, localized fulfillment), and SLA design.
- Oversee Europe project development and management, including site selection, warehouse build‑out or conversion, automation/tech deployment (WMS, OMS, TMS), budget management, timeline & risk control.
- Take full operational responsibility for the region’s warehousing, trunk‑haul transport, and last‑mile delivery network—ensuring :
- Order fulfillment cost per unit meets the target
- On‑time delivery to the customer (consumer / merchant) according to SLA
\- Inventory accuracy, returns handling, and fulfillment scalability
- Optimize Europe's end‑to‑end supply chain (supplier inbound → regional DCs → local fulfillment → final delivery) to enhance customer experience, reduce lead times, improve transparency, and drive cost efficiency and scalability.
- Manage key external stakeholders: European customs authorities, tax/tariff advisors, cross‑border freight forwarders, local carriers/parcel networks, 3PLs. Ensure full compliance with customs, VAT, inbound/outbound regulations, duty regimes, and fulfillment legislation.
- Lead a multi‑country team (operations, carrier partnerships, network planning, etc.), drive performance via KPI dashboards (cost per order, delivery time, returns rate, warehouse utilization, carbon footprint).
- Represent the business in senior leadership meetings, present logistics strategy, investment cases, ROI modeling, and continuous improvement roadmap.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in logistics, supply chain or fulfillment operations, with extensive experience in European e‑commerce logistics networks, including both first‑mile and last‑mile operations.
- Demonstrated experience in building or fully optimizing a regional logistics/fulfillment network (“0 to 1” or major transformation) in Europe, including warehousing, transport, parcel / delivery partner network, and automation deployments.
- Deep knowledge of European customs, VAT / tax regimes, duties / tariffs, free‑zone warehousing, cross‑border fulfillment models—able to navigate regulatory environment across multiple European countries.
- Strong track record of managing warehousing and transportation operations at scale: P&L responsibility, cost‑control, KPI development, continuous improvement methodology (Lean / Six‑Sigma), automation/tech enablement.
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills: able to manage multi‑country, multicultural teams; negotiate major contracts; develop strategic partnerships with carriers / 3PLs; present to senior executives.
- Fluency in English (written & spoken) is required. Proficiency in German or another major European language (e.g., French, Dutch, Polish) is highly desirable.
- Availability to travel across Europe, especially during network build‑out or key project phases.
- Strong analytical and strategic mindset, data‑driven; able to use logistics metrics, modelling, network simulation, fulfilment cost/performance trade‑offs.
