A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Head of Governance & Digital Architecture for Grid Technologies you are the Strategist of the GT Digital Services organization. You are the architect of our digital future and the guardian of its successful execution. Your day will be spent defining the strategic Digital Services roadmap for the Grid Technologies business area, establishing the architecture roadmap that guides our technology decisions, overseeing the project portfolio, and driving critical change management initiatives underpinning our transformation. You ensure that the GT Digital Services roadmap and Cybersecurity strategy fully connect with the GT Business Area priorities and are aligned with the global Siemens Energy Strategy. As the Enterprise Architect for Grid Technologies, you orchestrate alignment and deliver maximum business value.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Responsible for creating the strategic framework that enables the entire digital organization to succeed.
• Leading, inspiring, and transforming a high‑performing team of experts in IT Architecture and Cyber Security, Data Enablement, and Change Management, while owning and continuously evolving the digital roadmap and IT governance framework for Grid Technologies.
• Facilitating the strategic portfolio management process, creating transparency on project status, finances, and resource allocation to support effective investment decisions by business and business partner leaders.
• Leading IT Architecture and Governance to define and enforce technology standards, collaborating closely with Grid Technologies Process Owners and the Corporate Enterprise Architecture team for alignment, and developing a tool that provides transparency on GT processes, tools, applications, and Data.
• Continuously benchmarking performance against industry best practices and evaluating forward‑thinking IT/OT technologies to keep GT Digital Services best‑in‑class, while championing Change Management to ensure adoption of new technologies and processes.
• In Cybersecurity, developing core competencies for operational implementation of cybersecurity guidelines and requirements at all levels, starting with ACP, and supporting the cybersecurity community in skill development.
• Delivering on tight timelines to meet urgent Business Area needs, identifying and filling white spots, and working very closely with the Head of Digital Services.

What You Bring

• Longstanding senior IT leadership experience in IT strategy, IT architecture, portfolio management, and digital transformation; advantage: management consulting experience; leadership by influence in a highly matrixed organization; expert facilitation, negotiation, and consensus building.
• A master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong business and financial acumen with a productivity mindset; C‑suite level communication and presentation skills; translation of complex business strategies into coherent technology roadmaps and investment portfolios with maximized ROI.
• Very strong experience as Enterprise Architect with exceptional strategic and communication skills; broad and deep knowledge of IT architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL) and modern technology trends such as AI embedment; expert level knowledge of Project & Portfolio Management principles, tools, and methodologies including simulation.
• Forward‑looking mindset and passion for emerging IT/OT technologies (e.g., Generative AI, Digital Twins, Edge Computing) with application in industrial contexts.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance and Cybersecurity Frameworks and Change Management methodologies; deep expertise in IT governance, strategic planning, and financial management of a large, complex IT budget.
• Proven expertise in IT performance management and benchmarking; definition and measurement of KPIs demonstrating the value and effectiveness of a digital organization.
