We are looking for: Hardware RF Engineer

The RF Engineer (with a focus on cellular modem design for LTE and 5G) is a key member of the Eagle Wireless R&D team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of RF systems for automotive connectivity modules in accordance with customer requirements, wireless standards, and regulatory certification requirements. You will collaborate closely with PCB layout designers, product management, and purchasing teams to ensure high-performance, scalable RF designs are delivered on schedule. Additionally, you will provide technical consulting on antenna and RF front-end integration and help guide projects through all development phases up to type approval and certification.

Key Requirements

• Contribute to the design, development, and integration of RF systems for cellular modems and Wi-Fi/BT modules across wireless technologies.
• Drive assigned RF development tasks from concept to production: component evaluation, RF chain matching and simulation, circuit testing and debugging, schematic creation, and layout supervision.
• Work closely with cross functional teams to integrate RF components into modem designs, optimizing for low power consumption and high reliability.
• Coordinate across engineering teams to debug complex hardware, firmware, and calibration issues.
• Execute RF testing, simulation, and analysis of key KPIs such as sensitivity, power consumption, and noise.Design RF architectures that meet or exceed 3GPP, ETSI, FCC, CE, and automotive reliability standards.
• Prepare technical project reports, test plans, and RF documentation.
• Support junior engineers and share best practices in RF design, testing, and certification.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 5+ years in RF engineering with a focus on cellular modem design and integration (LTE/5G/Wi-Fi/BT)
• Solid knowledge of RF system architecture with major chipsets - system definition, circuit-level analysis, simulation, and implementation of wireless products.
• Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment (call box, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer), calibration methodology, and key RF components such as PA, filter, switch, etc.
• Strong knowledge of 3GPP mobile communication standards
• Understanding of antenna design, impedance matching, and system-level performance optimization
• Experience with schematic tools and supervising layout work.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate work across small cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive RF design and integration of wireless technologies into vehicles.
• Familiarity with global automotive regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with GNSS and with multimode modems and cross-network handovers.
