Job summary

Optimus Search in Germany is seeking an experienced PCB Design Engineer to develop multi-layer layouts for FPGA-based embedded systems used in demanding environments.

You will route high-speed interfaces, ensure signal integrity, EMC/ESD considerations, and collaborate with manufacturing and hardware teams to guarantee producibility and test readiness across the production lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional PCB design experience including routing, testing, signal/power integrity, and commissioning.
• Experience in high-speed, multi-layer PCB design for Embedded platforms and FPGAs.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop sophisticated multi-layer PCB layouts for FPGA-based and embedded electronic systems.
• Integrate high-speed interfaces including memory buses, high-speed serial links, and peripheral connections.
• Incorporate EMC, ESD, and reliability considerations throughout the design lifecycle.
• Establish board stack configurations, impedance-controlled routing, and power distribution schemes for advanced PCB designs.
• Conduct simulations to analyze signal and power behavior, ensuring stable operation of high-speed interfaces.
• Refine PCB layouts to enhance manufacturability, product robustness, and efficiency in large-scale production.
• Collaborate with manufacturing specialists to align designs with practical production requirements and ensure manufacturability and test readiness.
• Work in close partnership with other Hardware and Embedded teams to align hardware layout with system architecture and functional needs.

Requirements

• Obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar
• 3+ years of professional experience in PCB design, including routing, testing, signal/power integrity, and commissioning
• Experience in high-speed, multi-layer PCB design for Embedded platforms and FPGAs
