The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within Huawei's Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Your mission

• You will conduct PCB schematic and layout design based on ongoing project requirements
• You will work closely with R&D staff in order to identify hardware and firmware design requirements for power converters for Solar PV & BESS applications
• You will work closely with PCB/PCBA partners for prototyping and organize production, assembly and component sourcing
• You will support hardware verification and commissioning tests while taking care of all necessary laboratory safety measures
• You will maintain and update component libraries and assist in the organization and maintenance of hardware test facilities
• You will hold regular presentations to the wider team and document design and testing activities

Your areas of expertise

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, informatics, telecommunications, or a related field with several years of industrial experience
• Good fundamental knowledge of analog and digital electronics
• Experience in working with industry standard PCB design tools.
• Experience in programming state of the art controllers such as DSPs, ARMs, etc.
• Solid experience in hardware and firmware verification and testing activities
• High level of self-reliance and eagerness to learn new things and think outside of the box
• General knowledge of power electronics, FPGA programming and electrical safety are a plus
• Fluent in written and spoken English, willingness to learn German, additional languages are a plus
