Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Basic knowledge in aircraft design and flight loads calculation needed.
• Good knowledge in aeroelasticity methods and coding skills in Python and/or Matlab expected.

Are you passionate about aircraft physics? Are you keen to master the way we compute external loads acting on the vehicle due to manoeuvres, flight in turbulence, landing impact, ground-handling? This job will give you the opportunity to work internationally with several internal flight physics departments and with teams located in Europe and India.

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

• Optimize the global design of Airbus products during the concept phases.
• Contributing in building Aerodynamic / Mass / Finite Element model based using Airbus in-house tools.
• Compute gust loads based on CS25 requirements.
• Develop key competences in the areas of loads and aeroelastics along with the required methods and tools.
• Actively support us as a new member of our team on our journey.

Desired skills and qualifications

• You have a Master degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• You bring basic knowledge in overall aircraft design and basic competencies in flight loads calculation and flight mechanics.
• You show good knowledge in aeroelasticity methods and are experienced in coding using Python and / or Matlab.
• You are preferably familiar with tools like MSC.NASTRAN, ALTAIR HyperWorks, CFD.
• You are passionate to understand physical aspects and to use your engineering judgement.
• You are a highly motivated, proactive and open-minded person with a great sense of initiative.
• You are keen to deepen your technical knowledge while enjoying working in a multicultural team.
