Senior Tax Expert (gn) – Group Tax Reporting & GloBE
Your impact
Have you helped put Pillar 2 into practice? Would you like to shape how a global insurance group applies the rules across its businesses and investment portfolio? Do you enjoy working through IFRS tax accounting questions and seeing your judgement reflected in the Group’s quarterly and annual results? Then we’d love to hear from you about the role of Senior Tax Expert (gn) – Group Tax Reporting & GloBE!
Our client is a leading international insurance group headquartered in Munich. In this newly created position, you’ll report directly to the Head of Tax Reporting. You’ll work with local Heads of Tax on GloBE reporting and investment questions while contributing directly to the Group close.
Your responsibilities
- GloBE reporting and compliance. Coordinate Pillar 2 reporting with local tax teams, review the underlying data and help resolve technical questions. Develop controls that teams across different jurisdictions can apply consistently, including during tax audits.
- Pillar 2 planning and investments. Assess how the global minimum tax affects investment structures and the Group’s tax position. Explain the implications to colleagues making investment and tax planning decisions.
- Tax accounting and the Group close. Contribute to quarterly and annual closes, apply IAS 12 to income tax questions and help prepare internal and external tax reporting under IFRS and Solvency II.
- Country-by-Country Reporting and tax transparency. Coordinate reporting to tax authorities and contribute to public tax disclosures. Work with local teams to investigate discrepancies and deliver accurate figures on time.
- Processes and tools. Work with Accounting, Controlling, Risk and Actuarial colleagues to improve tax data quality, standardise reporting across entities and automate recurring tasks.
Your profile
- You hold a degree in business administration, finance, economics, law or a related discipline with a strong focus on tax. A professional tax adviser qualification is a plus.
- You bring at least five years of relevant tax experience in an international group, a tax advisory firm or both. We welcome candidates moving directly from advisory, including Big Four and Next Ten firms.
- You have hands-on Pillar 2 / GloBE experience and have contributed directly to an implementation project. You understand domestic and international taxation and can apply that knowledge to unfamiliar situations.
- Practical experience in IFRS tax accounting and reporting is essential. You can assess a technical issue, explain your conclusion and follow it through to the figures reported at close. In-depth IAS 12 knowledge and familiarity with Solvency II are advantages.
- You work confidently with Excel, enjoy investigating complex tax data and communicate clearly with international colleagues. Business-fluent English is required. German language skills are welcome.
What you can look forward to
- A direct line to the Head of Tax Reporting and the opportunity to shape the policies and tools that local tax teams use to meet their Pillar 2 obligations.
- An experienced international team of seven with a collaborative leadership style. You’ll have your own area of responsibility, colleagues to discuss technical questions with and a dedicated buddy during onboarding.
- Opportunities to deepen your expertise through a diverse investment portfolio, targeted learning programmes and regular collaboration with tax specialists and Heads of Tax worldwide.
- Hybrid working in Munich. During your first few months, the team generally expects you in the office five days a week. After onboarding, you’ll work on site at least three days a week.
- A comprehensive benefits package including a company pension, health insurance benefits, a discounted employee share purchase programme, well-being services and family support.
