Job summary

Orbital Critical Systems (CAF Group) is seeking Ground Control Station System Engineers to join our on-site teams in Germany, based in Manching, for long-term Airbus projects.

The role requires a degree in aerospace engineering or related fields, experience in safety & certification or I&V, and strong English skills (B2/C1). German language is a plus; European citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace engineering or related field.
• Experience in Safety & Certification, I&V, or System Architecture.
• English language proficiency (B2/C1) mandatory.
• European citizenship required; German language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define subsystem requirements and monitor their implementation.
• Manage suppliers and ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Support transversal safety, certification, RAMT and related activities.
• Contribute to overall equipment list and interface design.
• Harmonize requirements with architects and engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical assessments to support program line (if needed).
• Maintain customer contact to refine operational expectations.

Orbital Critical Systems (CAF Group) a leading company in safety‑critical software for aerospace, defence and transport, is looking for Ground Control Station System Engineers to join our on-site teams in Germany and support long-term projects with Airbus.

Locations: Manching

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: €50,000 to €65,000 gross per year, plus additional benefits and collective agreement payments

Contract: Permanent German employment contract

What you will do

• Define subsystem requirements and monitor their implementation.
• Manage suppliers, ensuring that proposed solutions comply with requirements.
• Contribute to activities performed by transversal organizations (Safety, Certification, RAMT, etc.).
• Contribute to the overall equipment list.
• Harmonize requirements and design with other Segment/Functional Chain Architects, Engineering disciplines and Partner Companies (consolidation of Physical Budgets, Design Criteria and overall GCS Performance).
• Support the program line with technical assessments (if needed).
• Support IV activities.
• Maintain customer contact to refine operational expectations and requirements.

What we are looking for

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field
• Experience in Safety & Certification, Integration & Verification (I&V), or System Architecture
• English B2/C1, mandatory
• German B1/B2 is a plus
