THOR GmbH, based in Speyer, is part of an international group. We currently employ around 700 people at our site. Our focus is on the development, production, and distribution of consultation‑intensive specialty chemicals in the fields of technical preservatives (e.g., for paints, varnishes, or industrial lubricants), flame retardants (e.g., for plastics, textiles, or building materials), and cosmetic additives (e.g., emulsifiers, humectants, or antimicrobial agents for skin care products.).

Global Key Account Manager (m/f/d)

We are looking for a motivated Global Key Account Manager (m/f/d) to manage the company's relationships with our key customers. You will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining long‑term key customers. Your goal is to build strong relationships with strategic customers. You will be able to identify needs and requirements to present our company's solutions and achieve mutual win‑win situations. The goal is to contribute to the maintenance and sustainable expansion of our business to be successful in the long term.

Extra information

Your workplace can be located at the Speyer site or at one of the other THOR sites in Europe but can also be fully or partially mobile working. It is important that the person lives in Europe.

Responsibilities
  • Establishing and expanding relationships of trust with existing and potential key accounts
  • Needs analysis and creation of long‑term benefits for the customer
  • Global market and competitive intelligence to identify new applications for existing products or new products to be developed
  • Expansion of existing and generation of new profitable business
  • Development of competitive pricing strategies
  • Development of customer‑specific, global and regional key account strategies
  • Liaison between key customers and cross‑functional internal teams
  • Negotiation of contracts ready for signature in English
  • Regular reporting and preparation of forecasts
Requirements
  • B.Sc./B.A. in business administration and/or natural sciences
  • Several years of professional experience in international key account management
  • Preferably sales experience in the field of technical biocides
  • Very good knowledge of the Microsoft 365 software (office applications), with focus on Excel, SharePoint, Power BI and Power Point
  • Fluent in business language in English, written and spoken. Additional language skills are desirable.
  • Willingness to travel (international travel approx. 30%)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with professionals at all levels of the organization
