Jobbeschreibung

Our client is a not for profit organisation which is lookings to make major step change improvements in industries by harnessing the knowledge and influence of experts. This is a part time role which is expected to be approximately 1-2 days a week. The salary is negotiable but is likley to be approximately €66,000 pro-rated to 1-2 days a week. As the role is remote based the person can be based anywhere in Germany as long as they have the full right to work in Germany and are at native level in German language.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll lead the development and delivery of the German experts group in food — creating a space for deep reflection, collaboration and bold action.

You’ll also support the evolution of their methodology, contribute to early-stage movement building in other sectors and countries, and work with the wider team on partnerships, influence and funding.

This role is suited to someone who thrives in independent, entrepreneurial environments — someone who combines credibility with senior stakeholders, strong facilitation skills, and the ability to build new networks and initiatives from the ground up.

This is a hands‑on role — you’ll be doing the work yourself, from identifying and engaging senior stakeholders to designing group sessions and writing up strategic insights. There is no delivery team to delegate to, so comfort with rolling up your sleeves is essential.

WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR

They expect you will bring professional experience related to the food sector or consulting — ideally with strong exposure to the German food sector, whether through work in a large food business (typically €500m+ turnover), consulting, investing, or other advisory roles.

That said, they are open to applicants from adjacent sectors who can demonstrate the learning agility, relationship‑building skills and strategic insight required to work credibly with senior professionals in food.

Fluency in German and English is essential for this role, to work across local and international partners.

They are also looking for a thoughtful, action‑oriented individual who :

  • Has experience building new initiatives or movements from scratch
  • Is confident working in high‑trust environments and supporting others to act boldly
  • Is a strong facilitator — able to guide group conversations and hold space for sensitive or complex dialogue
  • Can proactively recruit expert candidates (including through cold outreach and platforms like LinkedIn)
  • Is comfortable engaging with partners across civil society, philanthropy, media and business
  • Brings strong project management skills — able to stay organised, distil insights, and drive work forward
  • Has a clear sense of purpose, and believes in the role that industry can play in addressing climate and social challenges
  • Has a strong network in the German food sector and is confident using it to identify and engage senior professionals who could join the expert group
  • Emotionally resilient and comfortable working in complex, high‑trust environments — including when navigating disagreement, organisational politics, or conflicting perspectives with calm, empathy and clarity.
  • They are especially interested in individuals who are comfortable working with limited resources and navigating diverse, sometimes opaque, stakeholder landscapes.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll lead across five core areas :

1. Lead and expand the expert group in food (Germany)
  • Recruit and retain members from major German food companies or German arms of global players
  • Hold regular gatherings that support trust, insight sharing and collaborative action
  • Deepen their understanding of the dynamics and opportunities within the German food sector
2. Convert insight into influence
  • Work with experts and partners to develop campaigns or other activities that help shape the sector
  • Ensure key insights contribute to public, corporate or policy conversations
3. Support the development of new expert groups
  • Feed learning into efforts to seed expert movements in other sectors (e.g. tech, law, public affairs)
  • Contribute to early‑stage development of expert groups in Germany and UK
4. Contribute to organisational growth
  • Help shape our approach to expert group methodology
  • Support team strategy and internal development
  • Work with our team and partners to secure further project or core funding
5. Build and strengthen the ecosystem
  • Develop relationships with aligned organisations, funders, media and movement partners
  • Represent the company in sectoral forums and help grow our presence and legitimacy
