NEURA Robotics seeks a Safety Programmer to engineer safe, intelligent robotic systems. You will own system-level safety logic, network integration, and robotics fundamentals across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities include commissioning safety networks, validating safety functions per ISO/IEC standards, and scripting with Python/C++ while using Git for version control. Strong collaboration and problem-solving are essential.
At the heart of product innovation and development, our Systems Engineering Department transforms market demands into safe, certifiable, and competitive solutions and architectures. By collaborating closely with software, hardware, safety, and certification teams, we ensure every product meets the highest standards while adapting to fast-evolving market needs. Our mission is to enable seamless human-robot collaboration and deliver solutions that are safe, compliant, and ready for the future. Join us to shape the next generation of human-robot systems by owning system-level requirements, integration, and alignment, with architectural responsibilities as needed. If you thrive in cross-functional teamwork and technical excellence, you’ll find extraordinary opportunities with us.
Program Safety Logic: Develop, test, and troubleshoot safety-related control logic using PLC programming per IEC 61131-3 (Structured Text, Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram) on established automation platforms
Integrate Safety Networks: Implement and commission industrial communication and safety networks (EtherCAT, PROFINET, FSoE, PROFIsafe, CIP Safety) together with I/O systems, fieldbus communication, sensors, actuators, and servo/motion control interfaces
Apply Robotics Fundamentals: Support robot integration by applying coordinate systems, Tool Center Point (TCP), and joint/Cartesian motion concepts, with exposure to industrial or collaborative robot kinematics and dynamics
Commission & Validate: Commission, debug, and validate machine safety functions in line with ISO 13849, IEC 62061, and IEC 61508, ensuring safety-critical software is properly verified
Collaborate Across Teams: Use Python, C++, and Git within cross-functional automation and robotics teams, contributing analysis, troubleshooting, and clear documentation
Education: Degree (or currently pursuing one) in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Core Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with PLC programming per IEC 61131-3 (ST, LD, FBD) on at least one automation platform; ability to develop, test, and troubleshoot safety-related control logic; understanding of industrial communication and safety networks (EtherCAT, PROFINET, FSoE, PROFIsafe, CIP Safety) as well as I/O systems, fieldbus communication, sensors/actuators, and motion control/servo drives
Robotics Fundamentals: Basic understanding of coordinate systems, Tool Center Point (TCP), and joint/Cartesian motion; knowledge of robot kinematics and dynamics and exposure to industrial or collaborative robots is preferred
Programming & Development Tools: Proficiency in Python for scripting, testing, automation, or data analysis; C++ knowledge is a plus; experience with version control systems such as Git
Additional Preferred Skills: Awareness of functional safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61508); experience in commissioning, debugging, and validating machine safety functions; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams with good communication and documentation skills
