I’m supporting a growing technology company looking for a Fullstack Developer with strong backend expertise and the confidence to deliver frontend features too. Their platform helps businesses use resources more efficiently, combining digital services with data-driven insights.

You’ll join a small, international product team where engineers take ownership of technical decisions and deliver features from initial concept through to production.

The role

Your main focus will be backend engineering, with responsibility for the frontend elements needed to deliver complete features. You’ll work closely with product and design, contributing to architecture, implementation, deployment and ongoing improvements.

The stack includes PHP/Symfony, Angular, AWS, Docker and Terraform, with continuous delivery and automated testing supporting regular releases.

What you’ll do

• Take ownership of features across backend, frontend, infrastructure and deployment.
• Build and maintain cloud-based services, APIs and containerised applications.
• Develop distributed and message-driven systems with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Implement frontend functionality in Angular, translating requirements and designs into usable features.
• Design data models and improve existing applications as the platform grows.
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and contribute through code reviews and technical discussions.
• Investigate and resolve issues across the application stack.
• Use AI development tools thoughtfully, reviewing generated code to the same standard as your own.

What you’ll bring

• Around five or more years of professional software development experience, primarily focused on backend engineering.
• Strong experience with PHP/Symfony, or another backend ecosystem such as Java, Python or Node.js, with the willingness to work in PHP/Symfony from the outset.
• A solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems and message-based communication.
• Experience with relational databases, data modelling and schema design.
• Practical frontend experience with Angular, React or Vue, including component logic, state management and API integration.
• Experience with automated testing, Docker and cloud-based development, ideally AWS.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants and the ability to assess their output critically.
• Clear communication in English and a collaborative approach. German is a plus.

Useful additional experience

• NoSQL databases and Domain-Driven Design.
• CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and serverless applications.
• Building applications using LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation or AI agents.
• Frontend component libraries, design systems and performance optimisation.
• AWS certifications.
