Job summary

Zalando is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer for the Reco & Lifestyle Intelligence team in Berlin. You will build production-scale mobile and frontend solutions using React Native, TypeScript and React, collaborating across product, design and engineering to delight over 60 million customers.

You will contribute to reliable CI/CD, observability and security-focused development in a distributed team, including cross‑platform integration with native modules when required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with React Native libraries such as Redux, React Navigation and Axios.
• Experience building cross‑platform mobile apps with RN and native modules when needed.
• Proficient in setting up CI/CD pipelines and monitoring/observability.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship reliable mobile solutions using React Native, TypeScript and React.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to refine requirements and deliver pragmatic solutions.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, monitor production, and troubleshoot issues.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code with security and GDPR considerations.

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The Reco & Lifestyle Intelligence team is at the forefront of realizing Zalando’s AI ambition, We build the customer and assortment understanding that lets Zalando reason about why a product fits a given customer, and translate that understanding into discovery experiences that go beyond similarity-based recommendation. The team builds core, foundational capabilities like customer and assortment intelligence powered by advanced embeddings, sequential modeling, and outfit intelligence. In parallel, the team builds interactive UX components delivering tailored product suggestions across our customer journeys, where the foundational capabilities could be integrated with. As a Full-Stack Software Engineer in Reco & Lifestyle Intelligence, you will be responsible for building and operating systems that power both foundational capabilities and customer-facing UX. You will collaborate with product managers, product designers, applied scientists, and other software engineers to develop production-scale solutions that delight 60+ million Zalando customers.

• Reliability & CI/CD: Contribute to monitoring, observability, and CI/CD pipelines. Help investigate production issues and improve application reliability.
• Quality & Learning: Write maintainable, well-tested code while considering security and GDPR requirements. Stay curious about new technologies and AI-powered development tools.
• Teamwork: Collaborate effectively in a distributed team, share knowledge, and continuously learn from others.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

2+ years of experience with React Native libraries like Redux, React Navigation, and Axios. You have proven track of building cross-platform mobile apps integrating React Native with native modules when necessary. You are experienced with setting up CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps and You have strong experience with Monitoring and Observability. You possess excellent communication skills in English and can articulate complex technical topics and solutions clearly and concisely.

Bonus Skills

• You have experience working with Kubernetes.
• You have experience in the E-commerce industry.
