Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a new colleague to join our faculty in Potsdam and Berlin on a freelance basis starting as soon as possible.

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced academic professionals or industry practitioners to contribute to the delivery and development of undergraduate and postgraduate technical courses, including but not limited to the following areas:

  • Computer Science
  • Data Science
  • Software Engineering
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Programming
  • Data Structures
  • Algorithms
  • Databases
  • Computer Networks
  • Web Development
Key Activities & Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in assigned courses across Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes.
  • Design and update course syllabi, materials, assessments, and digital resources.
  • Supervise theses and student research projects.
  • Conduct applied research and contribute to the university's academic output.
  • Engage in academic advising and mentoring of students.
  • Participate in curriculum development and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with international partners and industry stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the broader academic community at Gisma through committee work and events.
Your profile
  • At least 2 years of relevant teaching or industry experience, with proven expertise in one or more of the listed subject areas, ideally in an international context.
  • Demonstrated practical proficiency with modern programming languages, frameworks, and state-of-the-art tools and technologies commonly used in the industry.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Strong intercultural communication skills and a student‑centered approach to teaching.
  • Residence and legal authorization to work in Germany.
  • A completed doctoral degree (PhD or DBA) in a relevant field is an advantage.
  • Proven track record of scholarly research, publications, or applied industry projects is an advantage.
