Job summary

Startupistan Impact Ventures gUG is seeking an experienced Freelance Grant Writer & Fundraising Consultant to help identify funding opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and secure grants to expand social impact in education, employment, and digital inclusion.

You will work remotely on a freelance basis, engaging with international funders and the founding team to build a sustainable funding pipeline and drive program growth in Germany and beyond.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in grant writing or fundraising.
• Experience with European/international funding ecosystems.
• Strong written English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Funding research: Identify grant opportunities from foundations, CSR programs, public funding institutions, and international donors.
• Grant writing: Develop high-quality funding proposals, concept notes, expressions of interest, and grant applications.
• Fundraising strategy: Build and maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities aligned with our mission and projects.
• Proposal development: Translate project ideas into compelling narratives, budgets, logic models, and measurable impact indicators.
• Donor engagement: Support outreach, partnership development, and communication with prospective funders.
• Application management: Coordinate submission requirements, deadlines, supporting documentation, and follow-ups.

What you'll do

• Funding research: Identify relevant grant opportunities from foundations, corporate CSR programs, public funding institutions, and international donors.
• Grant writing: Develop high-quality funding proposals, concept notes, expressions of interest, and grant applications.
• Fundraising strategy: Build and maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities aligned with our mission and projects.
• Proposal development: Translate project ideas into compelling narratives, budgets, logical frameworks, and measurable impact indicators.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in grant writing, institutional fundraising, or proposal development, ideally with a track record of successful applications.

• Excellent written English; German is a strong advantage.
• Experience in education, employment, digital inclusion, migration, or international development is particularly relevant.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and turn early-stage ideas into fundable projects.
