Zusammenfassung

Technica Engineering GmbH in Munich invites applications for a FPGA Developer (m/f/d). You will design, develop, and test FPGA modules and firmware across in-house hardware designs, collaborating with hardware, software, and system engineering teams.

The role emphasizes rigorous design flows, documentation, and continuous improvement, with a chance to work with leading automotive Ethernet and ECU projects. Fluent English and 5+ years in FPGA are expected; on-site in Munich.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with 5+ years FPGA design experience.
  • Experience with Altera/Intel and Xilinx FPGA devices and related tools (Quartus or Vivado).
  • Proficiency in VHDL.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as ModelSim.
  • Strong understanding of FPGA design flows, including synthesis, place & route, timing closure, and debugging.
  • Experience with debugging tools such as logic analyzers (SignalTap, Chipscope/ILA).
  • Fluent English required.

Aufgaben

  • Design, develop, and simulate FPGA modules, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Implement FPGA firmware for in-house hardware designs, following best practices for maintainability and scalability.
  • Contribute to the development of FPGA-based assemblies, including component selection and evaluation, schematic design and review, and definition and validation of layout constraints.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (hardware, software, and system engineering) to integrate and validate assemblies and FPGA configurations.
  • Perform system-level testing, debugging, and optimization of FPGA designs and hardware platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with defined development processes, covering module specification, architecture design, implementation, verification, integration, and review.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for developed modules, interfaces, and test procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement of design methodologies, workflows, and verification strategies.

Your Tasks With The Team
  • Design, develop, and simulate FPGA modules, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability
  • Implement FPGA firmware for in-house hardware designs, following best practices for maintainability and scalability

We would be delighted if you bring the following with you:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience in FPGA design and programming
  • Experience with Altera or Xilinx FPGA devices and related tools (Quartus or Vivado)
  • Proficiency in VHDL
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as ModelSim (or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of FPGA design flows, including synthesis, place & route, timing closure, and debugging
  • Experience with debugging tools such as logic analyzers (e.g., SignalTap, Chipscope/ILA)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team
  • Good communication skills and a structured, process-oriented way of working
  • Fluent English required
