This enables us to tackle critical challenges with differentiated solutions. Our exceptional, people-focused, and innovation-driven corporate culture ensures that every individual at Nova has the opportunity to make a real impact and push the boundaries of what is technologically possible.

Sentronics Metrology GmbH was recently acquired by Nova and is a leading company in the field of high-precision measurement solutions for semiconductor manufacturing. Based in Mannheim, Sentronics brings over 25 years of experience in developing state-of-the-art metrology systems. The integration of Sentronics is already well underway. Sentronics is now a permanent part of the Nova family and shares the same values: innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. The combination of Nova’s global presence and Sentronics’ advanced technology and expertise create a unique platform for growth and innovation. As part of Nova, Sentronics will fully benefit from the exciting opportunities in the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry.

As an FPGA Developer (m/f/d) you will play a key role in developing advanced FPGA solutions for high-precision optical metrology systems used in the semiconductor industry.

We are looking for an experienced FPGA Developer with strong expertise in VHDL-based FPGA design, digital system development, and signal processing. In this role, you will design and develop FPGA architectures, implement high-performance signal processing solutions, integrate complex digital designs into our metrology systems, and work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to advance our technology and products.

  • Design and develop FPGA architectures for advanced optical metrology solutions, contributing to the continuous evolution of our technology
  • Develop high-precision, high-performance signal processing algorithms for demanding measurement applications in the semiconductor industry
  • Develop, simulate, validate, and integrate complex digital FPGA designs into sophisticated system environments
  • Maintain and optimize existing FPGA solutions based on Lattice Semiconductor and Altera platforms
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary development teams to drive innovation and continuously improve product performance and technology
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong hands-on experience in VHDL-based FPGA design and development, ideally including Lattice Semiconductor and Altera platforms
  • Solid understanding of digital interfaces and communication protocols, including DDR, Ethernet, SPI, I²C, and SerDes
  • Experience with FPGA soft-core processors and/or SoC architectures is highly desirable; willingness to develop expertise in this area is also welcome
  • Experience with embedded C/C++, MATLAB, Python, or comparable modeling and simulation tools is an advantage, particularly in optoelectronic or sensor-based applications
  • Financial Wellbeing: Receive a tax- and duty-free cash bonus of €100 per month to use flexibly through our discounts platform and with premium suppliers. Birthday gifts and other non-cash allowance bonuses are also included.
  • Overall Wellbeing: Enjoy a free, generous breakfast with fresh fruit, a subsidised lunch, as well as free coffee, tea, and water. Take part in team events, company events, and volunteering activities.
  • Flexibility & Time Off: Benefit from a hybrid work environment with flexible hours, remote work options, and flextime. You can also work up to 20 days per year from any country in Europe.
  • Job Security: Work for a globally leading provider in the semiconductor industry that is continuously growing and focused on long-term success.
