Job summary

Plata Card is seeking an FP&A Analyst to own the monthly performance cycle from plan vs. actual analysis to the management report for leadership and investors.

You will dig into what happened in the business, explain drivers, and help decide what management needs to see. Strong Excel, SQL, Python and AI tools are expected, with collaboration across finance, product and business teams in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Experience in FP&A, financial or business analysis at a middle level.
• A degree in economics, mathematics, finance or a related field.
• Understanding of how a bank P&L works: interest income, funding cost, cost of risk, opex.
• Strong Excel skills.
• SQL and Python at an analyst level.
• Experience using AI tools (Claude or similar).
• Structured thinking and ability to explain numbers to non-finance colleagues.
• English level B2+ for international communication.
• Banking or fintech experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run the monthly plan vs. actual review and variance analysis.
• Dig into variances by product and geography and explain drivers.
• Prepare and publish the monthly management report for leadership and investors.
• Maintain and improve P&L data and reporting tools; add new metrics.
• Collect inputs from teams to ensure a full picture on time.
• Collaborate with management, business, product and finance teams.
• Support ad hoc analyses: business cases, payback calculations.

We are looking for an FP&A Analyst to own our monthly performance management cycle, from plan vs. actual analysis to the management report that goes to our leadership team and investors. This is more than putting numbers together: you will dig into what's happening in the business, figure out why, and help decide what management needs to see.

Challenges that await you:

• Run the monthly plan vs. actual review
• Dig into variances by product and geography and explain what's driving them
• Prepare and publish the monthly management report for leadership and investors
• Keep our P&L data and reporting tools in good shape and help improve them: new metrics, better structure, smoother updates
• Collect inputs from different teams and make sure we have the full picture on time
• Work closely with management, business and product teams, finance colleagues and other P&L analysts
• Help with ad hoc analysis: business cases, investment decisions, payback calculations
• Keep the monthly cycle running smoothly and on schedule
