Jobtailor in Berlin seeks an experienced Finance Business Partner for the Commercial function to translate pricing, volume and mix into financial impacts and actionable recommendations. You will challenge assumptions, support decision-making with scenarios, monitor trade investments, rebates and listing fees, and drive budgeting, forecasting and month-end analyses.

Ideal candidates have 5–8+ years in FP&A or sales-controlling in FMCG, with strong German and English communication and experience

Qualifikationen

• 5–8+ years in FP&A or a similar finance function.
• Experience as Finance Business Partner in FMCG/consumer goods preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Solid understanding of P&L, revenue structures, and margin mechanics.
• Ability to translate commercial drivers (price, volume, mix) into financial impacts.
• Experience with ERP/CRM/BI systems; SQL is a plus.
• Excellent German and English communication.

• Ability to switch between strategic questions and day-to-day business.

Aufgaben

• Act as the central Finance Business Partner for the Commercial function.
• Translate commercial developments into financial impacts and concrete recommendations.
• Proactively challenge assumptions and support decision-making with analyses and scenarios.
• Analyze revenue and margin drivers (volume, price, mix).
• Analyze profitability of customers, channels, and SKUs, including promotional ROI.
• Monitor rebates, listing fees, and other trade investments for accurate reflection.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes for net sales and KPIs.
• Translate sales plans and promotion calendars into financial forecasts.
• Support month-end close with variance analyses against budget/forecast.
• Identify root causes of material variances.
• Prepare decision-relevant analyses for Commercial and Finance management.
• Communicate insights clearly to target audiences.
• Develop FP&A processes, KPIs, reports, and dashboards (e.g., Power BI).

• Support the month-end close with performance and variance analyses against budget and forecast
• Identify the root causes of material variances
• Prepare decision-relevant analyses and presentations for Commercial and Finance management
• Communicate key insights clearly and in a manner appropriate to the target audience
• Continuously develop FP&A processes, KPIs, reports, and dashboards, for example in Power BI

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of professional experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, Sales Controlling, or a comparable finance function
• Ideally, experience as a Finance Business Partner in the FMCG, food, or consumer goods sector
• Strong analytical skills
• Solid understanding of P&L, revenue structures, and margin mechanics
• Ability to translate commercial drivers such as price, volume, and mix into financial impacts
• Ideally, experience with ERP, CRM, and BI systems
• Knowledge of SQL or automation is an additional advantage
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
• Ability to constructively challenge assumptions and engage commercial stakeholders
• Structured, pragmatic, and hands‑on approach
