Clera is seeking a hands-on software engineer to help build a new category of software at the intersection of AI, robotics, and physical laboratory systems. You will own critical infrastructure spanning experiment orchestration, agent connectivity, and distributed coordination, shaping the product foundation from day one.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, with a strong focus on Rust/TypeScript, distributed systems, and scalable data infrastructure.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years building production-grade software systems end-to-end.

• Demonstrated experience designing data infrastructure that captures state, events, and provenance at scale.

• Experience debugging across hardware, firmware, and software layers in production systems.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• 3 or more years building production-grade software systems end-to-end.
• Strong proficiency in Rust or TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, networking, and asynchronous programming.
• Demonstrated experience designing data infrastructure that captures state, events, and provenance at scale.
• Experience building orchestration or scheduling systems that coordinate multiple concurrent processes or devices.
• Experience debugging and integrating across hardware, firmware, and software layers in production systems.
• Experience building developer tooling, SDKs, or APIs for integration workflows.
• High agency and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving early-stage environments.
• Experience with robotics, hardware integration, lab automation, embedded systems, or ML infrastructure is a strong plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $100,000 to $170,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site in Munich, Germany (primary), with additional office locations in Zurich, Switzerland and San Francisco, USA. Hybrid arrangements may be considered.
