Skyborn Renewables in Bremen is seeking a Foundation T&I Engineer for a 2.5-year Fixed-Term Contract to support offshore wind projects. The candidate will coordinate planning, engineering, and execution of foundation installation activities, ensuring safety and compliance with project requirements.

You will have 3-6 years of relevant experience and a degree in Engineering, with strong knowledge of offshore operations. The role includes overseeing documentation and offshore execution while promoting safety and effective communication.

Overview

Skyborn’s flagship project, the Gennaker offshore wind farm, has just received its construction and operations permit – a major milestone for one of the largest offshore wind projects in the German Baltic Sea. With an installed capacity of 976.5 MW, Gennaker is set to deliver around 4 TW h of green electricity annually, enough to power approximately one million households. Scheduled for commissioning in 2028, this project is a cornerstone of Germany’s energy transition and a benchmark for sustainable innovation.

Position

Foundation T&I Engineer (all genders) (2.5 year Fixed-Term Contract)

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, engineering, and execution of foundation transport and installation (T&I) activities, ensuring technical soundness, safety, environmental compliance, and alignment with project requirements across offshore wind projects.
• Coordinate interfaces between foundation design, scour protection, fabrication, installation, and noise mitigation systems, ensuring integrated and execution‑ready solutions.
• Oversee transportation, marshalling, offshore installation, and noise mitigation installation activities, ensuring compliance with Skyborn HSSQ policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Review and coordinate technical documentation including method statements (RAMS/MS), lifting plans, seafastening designs, noise mitigation installation procedures, drawings, and as‑built documentation, ensuring compliance with Employer Requirements.
• Coordinate installation readiness activities, including risk assessments, vessel and equipment mobilization, FATs, mock‑ups, certifier and MWS interfaces, and construction certification support.
• Support offshore execution and close‑out by managing technical clarifications, change processes, daily progress coordination, contractor interfaces, dispute support, and handover to O&M.

Profile

• Degree in Offshore, Mechanical, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline, with 3‑6 years of experience in transport and installation (T&I) engineering within offshore wind, marine construction, or oil & gas projects.
• Practical experience with offshore wind foundation types (e.g. monopiles, jackets) and their transport, installation, and associated noise mitigation requirements.
• Strong knowledge of offshore lifting operations, marine logistics, vessel capabilities, and installation equipment, including support of noise mitigation systems during offshore works.
• Experience reviewing and developing installation procedures, method statements, lifting plans, and noise mitigation documentation in line with project and regulatory requirements.
• Solid understanding of applicable industry standards (e.g. DNV, ISO) and Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) processes, with exposure to certification and compliance activities.
• Effective communicator in multi‑stakeholder and offshore environments, fluent in English, willing to travel and work offshore during critical installation and noise mitigation activities.
