Limetax GmbH in Berlin HQ is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to bridge engineering, product and operations. You will work directly with tax advisory teams to identify opportunities for automation, build MVPs rapidly, and deploy AI-enabled workflows across our firms.

You are a builder with high agency, comfortable shipping software and APIs, and fluent in German and English to support Germany-wide tax operations.

Limetax is building the agentic-first accounting and tax group for German SMEs.

We acquire established accounting and tax advisory firms and onboard them to our proprietary agentic platform, combining deep industry expertise with AI-native technology.

Backed by $40m in equity and debt from top-tier investors, we're building and scaling a new kind of accounting & tax group in Germany.

Our founders bring significant experience across M&A, operations, and AI-native technology, having previously built and scaled unicorns, Razor Group and Augustus.

The Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work from our Berlin HQ at the intersection of engineering, product, and operations.

You'll work directly with our tax advisory teams to understand how they operate, identify high-impact opportunities for technology and automation, and build solutions that improve how work gets done.

Rather than building from abstract requirements, you'll work in tight feedback loops with users — understanding workflows, building MVPs fast, deploying them into production, and iterating based on real-world usage.

You're part engineer, part product thinker, and fully hands-on.

Your work will directly shape how our technology and agentic systems are deployed across the Limetax group.

What You'll Work On

Workflow Discovery. Work directly with tax professionals to understand complex operational workflows and identify where software and AI can have the biggest impact.

Rapid Prototyping. Turn operational problems into working MVPs quickly, test them with users, and iterate based on real-world feedback.

Product Engineering. Build software, internal tools, integrations, automations, and AI-enabled workflows that solve real problems across our firms.

Production Deployment. Take solutions beyond prototypes and deploy them into live operational environments.

Feedback & Iteration. Stay close to users after deployment, evaluate what works, and continuously improve the systems you build.

Scaling Solutions. Turn successful solutions into reliable, repeatable systems that can be rolled out across the Limetax group.

Cross-functional Execution. Work closely with founders, engineers, operators, and tax professionals to take projects from problem discovery through implementation.

You are a strong builder. You have shipped software, automations, or AI-enabled products that real users relied on and are comfortable working across APIs, databases, integrations, and modern development tools.

You have high agency. You don't wait for perfect requirements or a detailed playbook. You take ambiguous problems, figure out what matters, and drive them from discovery to production.

You are AI-native. You have built with LLMs, agents, or AI-enabled workflows and understand where AI creates real value — and where humans need to stay in the loop.

You work well with users. You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, earn trust, and thrive in messy environments with imperfect data, legacy systems, and changing priorities.

You speak professional German and fluent English. German is essential for working directly with our tax advisory teams across Germany.
