Job summary

BEAT81 in Nürnberg is seeking a Fitness Manager to build and develop the local coach network for the RIDE and BUILD+ formats, working with the Expansion Team and Studio Manager during launch.

You will recruit, onboard, and mentor freelance coaches, while contributing insights to product development and ensuring a high-quality member experience in a brand-new city.

Qualifications

• Deep group fitness coaching experience at a high standard.
• Strength coaching background with barbell training and technique under load.
• Indoor cycling coaching experience is a plus; onboarding to RIDE is required.
• Experience leading or mentoring fitness professionals.
• High emotional intelligence and professional communication.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Hands-on builder mindset; will be among first permanent staff in a new city.
• German fluency and English ability (B1/B2).
• Willingness to travel to Berlin for trainings.

We are opening our first studio in the city in early 2027, with two formats under one roof: RIDE, our indoor cycling experience with real-time heart rate tracking, and BUILD+, our new strength format with Smith machines, barbells and our own weight tracking technology, where members see exactly what they lifted, every set, every session. We are looking for a Fitness Manager to build and develop the coach community that brings both formats to life. As Fitness Manager you are the quality owner and coach development expert for our freelance coach community in Nuremberg. During the launch phase you work hand in hand with our Expansion team and take over from our Expansion Fitness Manager after a structured onboarding. You work alongside the Studio Manager, who runs the studio day to day, and you are one of the first permanent BEAT81 team members on the ground in a brand-new city.

You will

Coach Recruitment & Launch Support

• Support the recruitment of freelance coaches for the local studio by identifying potential candidates, participating in recruitment activities and coordinating try-outs together with the relevant central teams.
• Coordinate the local recruitment process by helping organise try-outs, launch events and other recruitment-related activities for RIDE and BUILD.
• Assess candidates during recruitment activities against the relevant format and role requirements and share structured feedback with the responsible central team.
• Support the launch of the local coach network by helping create a strong connection between the studio, the formats and newly recruited coaches during the opening phase.

Product & Format Development

• Act as a local product and format expert by bringing studio-level insights and market feedback into the development of RIDE and BUILD+.
• Provide feedback on formats, workouts, equipment and the member experience based on observations from the local studio environment.
• Identify opportunities for product improvement and share relevant insights, ideas and feedback with the central Fitness and Product teams.
• Support product and format roll-outs locally by helping ensure that new concepts, formats or product updates can be implemented effectively in the studio environment.
• Participate in product testing where input from the local studio is required.

Coach & Studio Interface

• Provide format-related information and context to freelance coaches where needed for recruitment, try-outs, product testing or the introduction of new formats.
• Collect relevant feedback from the local studio environment and pass it to the appropriate central team for consideration in product and format development.
• Support a strong local coach

You have

• Deep group fitness coaching experience at a high standard.
• A strength coaching background: you train with barbells yourself, you are comfortable coaching compound movements (squat, deadlift, press, row) and correcting technique under load, and you hold a recognised personal training or strength qualification.
• Indoor cycling coaching experience is a strong plus; willingness to get onboarded to RIDE is a must.
• Experience in group fitness leadership or working alongside other fitness professionals; you know how to mentor and support coaches.
• Quality-first decision-making: you can distinguish between teachable skills and fundamental competencies, and you enforce standards without eroding trust.
• High emotional intelligence and maturity, with clear, direct and professional communication; you can give and receive tough feedback.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail; you manage multiple priorities on the go and nothing slips through the cracks.
• A hands-on builder mindset: you are excited (not scared) by being one of the first permanent people on the ground in a new BEAT81 city.
• Fluent German and at least B1/B2 English.
• Comfort with a non-traditional schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends when the coaches need you, and with occasional travel to Berlin for format trainings and team events.

Nice to have

• An advanced strength qualification (e.g. CSCS, Olympic weightlifting or powerlifting certification, German A-Lizenz) or a degree in sports science.
• Certified indoor cycling instructor.
• Experience building or guiding high-performing coaching teams.
• Familiarity with fitness-tech, gamification, or boutique fitness concepts.
