Job Title: Operations Coordinator - Brokerage Operations

Job Description

The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in the Brokerage Operations area, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of client documentation and supporting a variety of financial processes. This position requires someone who is eager to learn multiple lines of business, can process both routine and complex transactions, and consistently meets quality and service standards in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all required client documents are on file, complete, and accurately maintained.
• Process daily departmental work, including asset movements, account transfers, and new account setup and maintenance.
• Handle routine and complex financial transactions in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner.
• Proactively identify, interpret, and resolve potential issues related to accounts, transactions, or documentation.
• Independently follow established procedures to meet service level agreements and achieve quality metrics.
• Learn, use, and provide support for various financial products, software applications, and systems.
• Comply with all company policies and applicable regulatory requirements in daily operations.
• Perform account reconciliations and calculations to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Calculate interest and dividend payments and process incoming contributions and outgoing distributions.
• Maintain information in various databases and run reports to research and verify account or transaction details.
• Accurately enter, update, and process data to support brokerage and annuity operations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across operations to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in the financial services industry.
• At least 1 year of experience processing work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong accounting and reconciliation skills with attention to numerical accuracy.
• Proficiency in data entry and transaction processing with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience with brokerage operations and annuity-related processing.
• Ability to learn and effectively use financial products, software, and systems, including brokerage platforms such as Pershing.
• Ability to independently follow procedures and consistently meet service level and quality metrics.
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify, interpret, and resolve potential issues proactively.
• Solid understanding of basic finance and accounting principles.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy under time constraints.

Work Environment

The role follows a standard 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift in an office-based operations environment. Associates work on a hybrid schedule, coming into the office twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays, plus the first and third Friday of each month. The workspace is a casual, open cubicle-style setting that supports collaboration and easy communication among team members. While there is no lunchroom that serves food, there is a designated area available for employees to eat and take breaks. The organization emphasizes responsibility and results rather than strict clock-in and clock-out practices, offering a professional yet relaxed atmosphere focused on accuracy, efficiency, and meeting operational deadlines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
