Job summary

JOBSTODAY.WORLD is seeking reliable Financial Accountants to join our clients across Germany. Roles are on-site or hybrid, with multiple locations available.

You will manage accounting records, VAT, month-end closes, and ensure compliance with HGB and tax regulations. Proficiency in DATEV or SAP is preferred.

Fluent German required; English is an advantage. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is essential, with prior bookkeeping or accounting experience.

About the Role

We are hiring reliable and detail-oriented Financial Accountants to support finance teams across Germany.

This role is ideal for professionals with experience in accounting, financial reporting, bookkeeping, and German accounting standards who want to work in a structured finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping according to German accounting standards.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reviews.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and tax regulations.
• Assist with audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Prepare VAT returns and statutory financial reports.
• Review financial transactions and identify discrepancies.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, Financial Accountant, or Bookkeeper.
• Strong knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and tax regulations.
• Experience with accounting software such as DATEV, SAP, or similar systems.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Fluent German language skills required; English is an advantage.
• Bilanzbuchhalter qualification is an advantage.
