Zusammenfassung

ChefCoco is a fast-growing European corporate caterer seeking a Finance & Operations Associate in Berlin. You will own the financial cycle—reporting, invoicing, payables, cash flow—and improve processes as the company scales.

You will work closely with kitchen, growth and tech teams to connect operations to numbers and drive strategic decisions. The role requires 1–2 years in finance-related fields, a Bachelor's or Master's degree, fluent German (C1+), and strong Excel/Sheets skills.

Qualifikationen

• 1–2 years of professional experience in finance, controlling, audit or consulting.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree or proven excellence through a project.
• German at C1 level or above.
• Solid finance fundamentals and strong Excel/Sheets; explain margin movement and build reusable models.
• Strong process and systems thinking; map workflows and improve them.
• Commercial sense and people skills for supplier negotiations and explaining numbers to non-finance.
• High level of autonomy and ownership; take initiative to complete projects.
• Experience in food & beverage; foodtech is a plus.
• Bonus: familiarity with DATEV, Stripe, Spendesk or dashboarding tools.

As a Finance & Operations Associate, you will own the financial cycle of the business: what we invoice, what we pay, and what our numbers tell us to do next. You will also be the person who improves that cycle, replacing manual work with systems as we scale. You will report to our Founder & CEO, while working closely with kitchen, growth and tech teams on the decisions your numbers shape.

Your Role

Own the financial cycle

• Reporting. Produce the monthly P&L and the weekly flash reports the team runs on, and stand behind the numbers in them.
• Revenue side. Client invoicing across daily meals, buffet, events and subscriptions, plus receivables and chasing what is outstanding.
• Cost side. Supplier invoices, payables, food and delivery cost tracking, and the payroll inputs we hand to our external provider.
• Cash and compliance. Manage our bank accounts and cash flow, reconcile them each month, and prepare what our accountants and tax advisors need.

Build what comes next

• Rebuild how the cycle runs. Invoicing, cost allocation and reporting all still take more manual work than they should. You will automate the repetitive steps and redesign those processes so they hold as we grow.
• Build with other teams. Work with kitchen, growth and tech to connect what they do to what we measure, from food cost structures to client unit economics.
• Bring the commercial angle. Support supplier negotiations and vendor benchmarking, and run ad hoc analysis when the business needs an answer quickly.

Your Profile

• 1 to 2 years of professional experience in finance, controlling, audit or consulting. Strong working student or internship experience counts, we are looking for ambitious early-career talent.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or proven excellence through something you have built (e.g. a business or project).
• German at C1 level or above. Our tax advisors, suppliers and authorities all work in German.
• Solid finance fundamentals and strong Excel/Sheets: you know how a P&L is built, you can explain what moved a margin, and you build models other people can still use a year later.
• Process and systems thinking: you can map how work flows today, see where it breaks, and design something better. You would rather fix the cause than repeat the fix.
• Commercial sense and people skills: this role involves negotiating with suppliers and explaining numbers to people who do not work in finance, not only building the sheet behind them.
• High level of autonomy and ownership: you take initiative and see projects through to completion.
• Experience in food & beverage, in any role, is a real advantage here, and foodtech even more so.
• Bonus: familiarity with DATEV, Stripe, Spendesk or dashboarding tools.
