Zusammenfassung

Bella & Bona GmbH in Germany seeks a finance operations intern to join our growing team and help scale financial processes across our startup environment.

You will coordinate payroll, manage AR/AP cycles, perform reconciliations, monitor cash flow, support month-end closing, and assist in quarterly reporting, while gaining hands-on experience with ERP systems and data tools.

Qualifikationen

• MSc in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Insurance, Financial Engineering, or a similar quantitative discipline.
• Proven experience in accounting, finance operations, payroll, AP/AR management, or within the finance department of a corporate or financial institution.
• Solid understanding of financial processes, cash flow monitoring, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies, variances, and optimization opportunities.
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling); knowledge of Excel/VBA is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SQL or similar querying tools is a plus; basic programming capability for data extraction and validation is considered an advantage.
• Comfortable working with ERP systems (experience with Netsuite or similar systems is a strong plus).
• Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment is highly valued.
• Able to work independently with a high level of ownership and accountability. We are looking for someone intellectually sharp, proactive, challenge-driven, and capable of structuring complex problems autonomously.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the confidence to interact directly with leadership.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate and support the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy of all payroll inputs including employee hours, leave balances, bonuses, and salary adjustments, while liaising with external payroll providers to ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Manage the full Accounts Receivable (AR) cycle, including issuing invoices, monitoring payment timelines, following up on outstanding receivables, maintaining accurate aging reports, and supporting revenue reconciliation.
• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) processes by verifying vendor invoices, ensuring proper cost allocation, maintaining organized financial documentation, and processing payments in a timely manner.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records across systems.
• Monitor cash flow movements, track liquidity, and proactively flag variances or potential risks to management.
• Support month-end closing activities and maintain structured financial documentation for internal controls, audits, and compliance purposes.
• Assist in preparing quarterly financial reports and management summaries, contributing to internal performance tracking and financial transparency.
• Maintain documentation of processes and workflows across the organization
