SerenSync is an early-stage, spin-off from Leibniz Institute (IfADo, Germany) and part of UnternehmerTUM & EIT Health network. We are developing neurotechnology based solution to address mental health burdens. We are looking for a full-time strategic, hands‑on Finance Manager to join our team.

Key responsibilities

• Financial Planning & Analysis: long‑term financial plans, driver‑based models and short‑term budgets.
• Financial Operations: manage AP/AR, payroll coordination and month‑end closing.
• Fundraising & investor relations: lead investor materials, data room, diligence and term‑sheet comparisons.
• Reporting & metrics: prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports, runway scenarios and investor updates.
• Compliance & risk: ensure tax/regulatory compliance and financial risk management.
• Cross‑functional work: partner with product, clinical, ops and commercial teams on modelling and strategic initiatives.

Job Qualifications

Essential

• Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD in Finance, Business or Economics (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with Venture Capital, Private Equity and a proven track record in fundraising.
• Solid understanding in financial planning & analytics, cashflow-management and strategic investment decisions
• Experience in communicating with investors and venture capitalists, in particular with the Startup environment
• Strategic thinking paired with a hands‑on approach to translate financial strategies
• High ownership, precise communicator, comfortable working with technical founders and regulated‑product contexts.
• Business‑level English (C1 preferred). German is an asset.
• Based in Germany and able to travel occasionally to Cologne/NRW.

Desirable

• Experience or passion for med‑tech, deep‑tech startups, Mental Health and the vision to impact the future of Mental Health with the help of technology
• Familiarity with cap tables, VSOP basics, and term‑sheet mechanics.
• Experience preparing investor data rooms.

Employment terms & compensation

• Compensation: EXIST fellowship monthly salary bands (for 1 year): Doctoral holders €3,000, Graduates €2,500, Technical employees €2,000, plus Equity (details to be agreed at offer stage).
• Contract: 12 months (EXIST‑funded). This is an initial, milestone‑driven funded phase. Successful achievement of agreed milestones will trigger a pathway to extension and to a market‑competitive permanent CFO package.
• Location: Germany‑based preferred (remote‑friendly but must be able to travel to Cologne/NRW occasionally).
• Reporting: CEO / Founders.
