Kotka seeks a finance manager for a permanent position from 1 March 2027 and, before that, a fixed-term position from 16 November 2026 to 28 February 2027 or as agreed.We seek an experienced and practical finance professional who combines deep financial understanding, wide-process ownership, and system skills with close collaboration with city departments and service providers.Our goal is to provide functioning processes, up-to-date information, and quality support for financial planning and monitoring in the finance unit.
What we expect from you: you can operate under tight schedules and have experience in various roles of financial administration and operational guidance.You are eager to understand the needs of city departments and not afraid of practical challenges.You understand how finance can support the organization’s activities cost-effectively and impactfully and want to develop operations accordingly.
Leading the finance team and managing annual processes, analyzing financial data, producing documentation and developing reporting, financial administration service provision and stakeholder collaboration, and evaluating tax revenues and state subsidies.
Education requirement: relevant university degree.Other requirements: broad expertise in financial administration, up-to-date knowledge of municipal financial regulations and authorities' guidelines.Desirable: knowledge of municipal group operations, accounting and bookkeeping; experience in leadership roles and project work; experience in contract management and multi-supplier environments; ability to provide guidance with modern tools; ability to produce demanding financial information; ability to utilize technology such as Excel, Power BI and AI.
The Kotka City financial unit also covers information technology and procurement and financing functions.The office is located in Kotka City Hall with partial remote work.The unit collaborates with Sarastia, and help is available in everyday work.We have good team spirit and lots to do.
Salary for the position is 5,546.02 €/month, and other terms follow the Municipal Sector collective agreement (KVTES).A six-month probation applies.
The selected must provide a health certificate before confirmation of appointment.
