Zusammenfassung

GE Vernova sucht eine/n Field Service Engineer für elektrische Ausrüstung, der/Inbetriebnahme- und Servicetätigkeiten unserer HVDC- und FACTS-Systeme vor Ort leitet. Die Stelle erfordert Reisebereitschaft und enge Abstimmung mit Kunden sowie internen Teams weltweit.

Sie arbeiten zu 80% vor Ort an Projektstandorten und zu 20% remote. Voraussetzung sind ein technisches Hochschulstudium, mehrjährige Onsite-Erfahrung sowie fließende Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse.

Qualifikationen

• Abgeschlossenes Hochschul- oder Fachhochschulstudium in Elektrotechnik bzw. Energietechnik.
• Signifikante Onsite- und Feldservicerfahrung.
• Gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse.
• Bereitschaft zu bis zu 75% Reisetätigkeit weltweit.

Aufgaben

• Inbetriebnahme und Service von HVDC/FACTS-Systemen vor Ort.
• Auf- und Abbau- sowie Offshore-Aktivitäten koordinieren.
• Technische Unterstützung für Kunden und interne Abteilungen.
• Dokumentation und Berichte vor Ort erstellen.
• Sicherheitsvorgaben vor Ort sicherstellen.
• Vor Ort an Meetings mit dem Kunden teilnehmen.

We are looking for a self-motivated Field Service Engineer for electrical equipment able to lead and support commissioning and service activities of our FACTS & HVDC projects.

This key position in GE’s Service organization will be responsible for leading the on-site portion of multi-year service contracts supporting customer installations located in different countries in Central Europe on- and offshore. As a Field Service Engineer you will be part of a community of experts able to support global customers on high technology equipment enabling the energy transition in Europe.

In this position, you will be required to spend 80% of your working time on site at project locations (including international travel) and 20% working from home.

Job Description

• Commissioning and service of the installed HVDC and FACTS products in the field and potentially the supervision of subcontractors. In order to be able to do that, you will undergo further intensive training in this area.
• Coordinate and work on- and offshore on our projects, ensuring that the deadlines are met and quality is maintained.
• Provide technical support to the customer and to different internal functions at GE Vernova on FACTS and / or HVDC transmission projects.
• Involvement in the preparation of on-site activities in coordination with the customer and project management.
• Prepare documentation and site related reports.
• Point of contact for all health and safety issues for your area of responsibility
• Attend on-site customer meetings as required

Required Qualifications

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification in the field of electrical engineering or power engineering, preferably with further training as a technician
• Significant experience in an equivalent position with onsite & field service experience
• Technical understanding of high voltage components, power electronics/electrical networks
• Availability to travel up to 75% nationally and internationally
• Fluent German and English language skills

Preferred

• Experience on drives, FACTS or HVDC equipment (valves + control + Protections)
• Technical knowledge and site experience in commissioning of protection relays
• Technical knowledge and site experience in troubleshooting, with the use of network recorders and/or analyzers
