Power Integrations is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to join the Central Europe Sales organization, supporting Germany and Italy with technical design‑in and application advice.

You will travel about 30% to customer sites and run technical workshops, optimize designs, and help customers select PI solutions that meet their requirements.

Required: a BSEE or MSc in Electronics, 4+ years in high‑voltage SMPS design, and fluent German and English.

Qualifikationen

Job title: Field Applications Engineer

Objective of the role:

The Field Applications Engineer will be part of the Central Europe Sales organization reporting to the Field Sales Team in Germany and Italy. This individual will assist the Sales Team technically to increase Power Integrations' market penetration and design wins by providing technical support to key customers, helping them choose and design-in PI solutions which fit their requirements. In this role, the expected amount of travel visiting customers is 30%.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide the highest quality technical support and advisory to customers via online and on-site meetings to maintain our leading edge in the marketplace.
• Provide application and design support to assigned key customers.
• Optimize customers' designs, recommending changes for improvements.
• Produce customized designs and hardware to meet customers' requirements.
• Conduct periodical technical workshops with customers to showcase PI latest technology solutions.
• Support Sales Team technically in the region to increase number of Design Wins and revenue.

Competencies:

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to successful and long-lasting client relationships
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Detail-oriented and analytical with a passion for customer satisfaction
• Experience in High Voltage transformer and AC/DC switched mode power supplies.
• Experience with BLDC motor drives and PCB design tools will be beneficial.

Requirements

• BSEE or higher (MSc preferred) in Electronics Engineering
• Minimum four years' experience designing High Voltage Switch Mode Power Supplies
• Demonstrable background of high voltage power electronics combined with lab hardware skills to design, build and test switch mode power supplies.
• Knowledge to include buck, buck-boost, flyback and LLC topologies
• Experience with EMI testing and trouble shooting.
• A background in Electric Vehicle power hardware is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a keen commercial awareness
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel.
• Fluency in written and spoken German and English is mandatory.
