Responsibilities include ensuring facility stability, responding to incidents, and maintaining critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering or HVAC, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and is proficient in German and English. This role requires a strong understanding of IDC infrastructure and the ability to work under standby support.

Jobbeschreibung

We are seeking an experienced and highly responsible Facility Engineer to support operations at an Internet Data Center (IDC). The role involves ensuring continuous facility stability, responding to incidents promptly, and maintaining all critical infrastructure in line with client (Alibaba) operational standards.

Work shifts: 7*24, 5*8

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily on-site duties at the Internet Data Center (IDC) as required by the Client.
• Be able to arrive on-site promptly outside working hours in accordance with IT operations incident management guidelines.
• Update and maintain infrastructure documentation with 100% accuracy.
• Regularly review alarm configurations and monitor system availability and stability.
• Be familiar with IDC environments and monitoring systems.
• Conduct inspections according to Alibaba standards, including facility condition checks, maintenance/repair MOP (Method of Procedure) reviews, and follow-up actions.
• Manage incidents following EOP (Emergency Operation Procedure) and report/escalate accordingly.
• Possess strong knowledge of IDC infrastructure, including power systems, HVAC, and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Quickly identify faults and restore services during incidents.
• Demonstrate knowledge of infrastructure monitoring, capacity management, security management, and availability management to enhance operational efficiency.
• Independently prepare and execute change MOPs, ensuring operational changes do not result in incidents.
• Complete other duties as defined in the Service Contract, Outsourcing Requirement Specification, and related attachments.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical engineering, HVAC, or related technical fields.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to work under 7×24 standby/rotation support.
• Minimum 1 year in infrastructure or IDC operations.
• Basic understanding of IDC infrastructure and operational procedures.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams, work remotely, and coordinate across languages and regions.
• Experience with multi-team coordination, meeting organization, and scheduling of facility maintenance/repairs.
• Local language: German, English, (Chinese is advantage)

Preferred

• Experience working in Alibaba Cloud or other large-scale IDC environments.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., electrical engineering, HVAC, data center operations).
