Zusammenfassung

SRH Hochschulen GmbH sucht eine/n externe/n Dozent/in auf Honorarbasis für den Heidelberger Campus im Studiengang Data Engineering. Die Lehrveranstaltungen finden wöchentlich statt.

Zu den Aufgaben gehören Unterricht, Betreuung von Projekten, Leistungsbewertungen und Abstimmungen mit dem Fachpersonal. Gesucht wird eine Fachperson mit Hochschulerfahrung, idealerweise Englischkenntnisse. Anwesenheit vor Ort in Heidelberg ist vorgesehen.

Qualifikationen

• Hochqualifizierte/lehrexperte im Fach Data Science/Computer Science/Mathematik oder verwandtem Bereich.
• Erfahrung in universitärer Lehre und Englischsprachigkeit bevorzugt.
• Kenntnisse zu Virtual Machines, Docker und containerisierten Umgebungen.

Aufgaben

• Durchführung wöchentlicher Lehrveranstaltungen (180 Min/Semester).
• Betreuung von Projektarbeiten oder Präsentationen.
• Noteingabe gemäß Modulvorgaben und Einhaltung von Fristen.
• Teilnahme an Koordinationsmeetings mit akademischem Personal.

Services

• Deliver weekly teaching sessions (180 min/session) during the semester
• Supervise project work or student presentations (if included in the module)
• Evaluate student performance and submit grades in line with university deadlines
• Participate in brief coordination meetings with academic staff (as needed)

Requirements

• A Master's or Ph.D (or nearing completion) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field
• Knowledge of Virtual Machines and Ubuntu/Linux, Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerized environments
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, Understanding of distributed systems and data processing (Hadoop and Apache Spark)
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of cloud computing, Familiarity with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery
• Understanding of cloud-based data pipelines, storage, networking, and IAM, Experience deploying or managing data workloads in a cloud environment
• Teaching experience at university level, preferably in English
• Availability during the lecture period ([e.g., mid-October to mid-February]).
• Able to commute to Heidelberg, as the lectures will take place on campus
