SRH University Heidelberg Campus seeks an external lecturer on a fee basis to teach modules in Applied Data Science and AI for the ADSAI study program. Courses emphasize practical implementation, with labs, projects and assessments designed to engage students and develop competencies in data analysis and AI tools.

Required is a university degree in data science, CS, AI or statistics, plus very good English and strong teaching skills.

• Teach Statistics & Machine Learning, Python Programming, and Data Management with practical focus.
• Apply libraries such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Teach Python development including OOP, APIs, testing, data processing and automation.
• Introduce LLM/agentic AI development using LangChain, LangGraph and related tools.
• Work with SQL, PostgreSQL, dbt, Neo4j, ETL/ELT pipelines and data visualization tools.
• Design hands-on labs, projects and assessments and coordinate content with module leads.

To support our School of Arts, Information & Media, we are looking for an external lecturer on a fee basis f/m/d for our courses in the study program of Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (ADSAI) at our Heidelberg Campus.

• Teach Statistics & Machine Learning, Python Programming, and Data Management with a strong focus on practical implementation and current technologies
• Apply statistical and ML libraries such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow and PyTorch for data analysis, modelling and evaluation
• Teach Python software development, including OOP, APIs, testing, data processing, automation, and development best practices
• Introduce LLM and agentic AI development using technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, FastAPI, vector databases and LLM APIs
• Work with modern data technologies including SQL, PostgreSQL, dbt, Neo4j, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling, and visualization tools such as Tableau
• Design and deliver hands‑on labs, coding exercises, applied projects and assessments, while supporting students and coordinating content with module and program leads

Requirements

• University degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Statistics or a related field
• Strong expertise in at least one of the listed modules
• Relevant academic and/or industry experience
• Very good English and strong teaching / communication skills
• Previous university teaching experience is an advantage
• Eligibility: SRH must not be the sole professional engagement; another main occupation and/or genuine other clients are required
